CHOOSING FAITH OVER FEAR

As humans, fear is an emotion that we all experience at some point in our lives. Fear can be paralyzing and can prevent us from living life to the fullest. It can hold us back from pursuing our dreams, trying new things, and taking risks. However, as believers, we are called to choose faith over fear. In this blog, we will explore the reasons why choosing faith over fear is important and provide practical tips on how to do so.

Firstly, it is essential to understand that fear is not from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Fear is a tool that the enemy uses to keep us from fulfilling our God-given purpose. It is a way to keep us stuck in our comfort zones and prevent us from stepping out in faith. So, how can we choose faith over fear? Here are a few practical tips:

  1. Trust in God's Promises: In times of fear, it is crucial to remember the promises of God. Psalm 56:3 says, "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." We must trust that God is always with us and will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6).

  2. Prayer and Meditation: Prayer and meditation are powerful tools that help us overcome fear. When we pray, we invite God into our situation, and we allow Him to take control. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

  3. Surround Yourself with Positive People: The people we surround ourselves with have a significant impact on our lives. It is essential to surround ourselves with people who encourage us to have faith and trust in God. Proverbs 13:20 says, "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."

  4. Take Action: Finally, we must take action to overcome our fears. We cannot let fear paralyze us. We must step out in faith, knowing that God is with us. James 2:17 says, "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

Choosing faith over fear is not always easy, but it is necessary if we want to live a fulfilling life. We must trust in God's promises, pray and meditate, surround ourselves with positive people, and take action. As we do so, we will see God's hand at work in our lives, and our faith will grow stronger.

In conclusion, choosing faith over fear is a decision that we must make daily. It is a choice to trust in God's promises and step out in faith, even when we are afraid. As we do so, we will see God work in our lives in amazing ways. Remember, fear is not from God, and we must choose faith over fear if we want to live the life that God has called us to live.
